How to watch a competitor's reviews on the Google Workspace Marketplace

Your competitor's reviews are free, public product research: every complaint is a gap you could fill, every rave names a feature you need to match, in the users' own words. The Marketplace won't help you follow them, but following them is easy to automate.

What competitor reviews actually tell you

The manual way

Bookmark their listing, open the Reviews tab now and then, and switch the language filter to all languages so you are not reading a tenth of the picture. This works for one competitor you check monthly. It stops working the moment you want to follow several, notice edits, or catch that post-release wave while it is happening.

The automated way

The stores' own tooling can't do this for you. The Chrome Web Store's native review notification only covers items in your own developer account, and the Google Workspace Marketplace has no review notifications at all, even for your own listings.

Notify doesn't care who owns the listing: it works from the public page alone, the same one any visitor sees, with no access to anyone's developer account. Paste a competitor's Marketplace URL (or Chrome Web Store URL), pick a schedule, and you get each of their new reviews by email with the author, rating and full text, in every language. The first check baselines their existing reviews silently, and each listing gets its own rating chart, so you can watch their trend line next to yours.

Each listing is its own subscription, so a common setup is your own add-on on hourly or daily checks and a couple of competitors on weekly, for a few dollars a month of competitive intelligence.
