Can you reply to reviews on the Google Workspace Marketplace?

Yes. It is easy to miss because nothing in the developer tooling points to it, but the Marketplace has an official reply feature, documented in Google's Reply to user reviews guide. Here is how it works, and how to write replies that actually help your listing.

How to reply to a review

The reply button only shows up if your Google account has edit rights on the add-on's Google Cloud project: Google's guide lists the project's admin and writer basic roles in IAM. If you published the add-on, you almost certainly qualify. Then:

  1. Open your app listing on the Google Workspace Marketplace.
  2. Select the Reviews tab.
  3. Under the review you want to answer, click Reply to this review.
  4. Write your reply, up to 2,500 characters, and submit it.

The same content policies as reviews apply to replies: stay on topic, no promotional content, and no phone numbers, email addresses or links. A reply that violates them gets removed.

Write for the people who will actually read it

Google doesn't document whether the reviewer is notified of your reply, so assume they may never see it. Your real audience is every future visitor who scrolls the Reviews tab while deciding between your add-on and the next one. For them, an unanswered one-star review reads as abandonment; a short, factual reply reads as an active developer.

A shape that works: thank them, address their specific problem in one or two sentences, and say what changed or when it will. If the review describes a real bug, say so plainly and come back to update the reply once it is fixed. Never argue with the reviewer, even when the review is wrong: you are writing for the audience, not the author.

The hard part is knowing the review exists

A reply feature only helps if you see the review while the feedback is still fresh, and the Marketplace never tells you one landed. Notify closes that gap: it watches your public listing on a schedule you pick and emails you every new review with the author, rating and full text, in every language. You read it in your inbox, click through to your listing, and reply while it still matters.
